Prayer
Prayer is how we connect to God!
The Bible tells us to "Rejoice always, pray without ceasing,
give thanks in all circumstances,
for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus for you." (I Thessalonians 5: 16-18)
We here at Main Street United Methodist Church are a praying people.
Breakthrough Prayer
We pray this prayer on Sunday during worship,
before meetings, before meals,
and in our homes.
We're asking God to "break through" and
make a difference in our church.
"Loving God,
Give us guidance at
Main Street United Methodist Church
to open our hearts, minds, and doors.
Energize us to unite with
new ideas and possibilities.
Grant us the courage
to fully embrace Your will
as we move forward."
Advent
Breakthrough Prayer
The Prayer Team has written this special
Breakthrough Prayer for Advent,
the four weeks leading up to Christmas.
"Loving Father,
as we light the Christ candle
in the center of the
Advent wreath
and celebrate
the birth of
Your Son,
Jesus Christ,
may Your Spirit
guide us to keep Him in the center
of our
everyday lives.
Open our hearts, minds, and doors
to spread
Hope, Love, Joy, and Peace
to others seeking
Your Word.
Amen."
